    How big is the actual gmapsupp.img file? I'm asking because I have a edge 705 which can only take a 2GB mem card

    The complete Europe IMG file is less than 2GB.

    Update your Edge 705 with the latest firmware and you'll be able to use SDHC-cards (4/8GB etc.). I've succesfully used a 4GB Kingston SDHC card in an Edge 705 using firmware 3.10.
