Default New Garmin GPS Units info

For users that keep asking about patching one of these Garmin Units below.

There is no way so do not keep asking about them.

If you buy one of these Units from Garmin then think long and hard about what you need in the way of maps etc.

When the Unit does not come with a map or maps you want you will have to pay for them in order for them to work on any of these Garmin Units below......

So stop asking can I patch it?????
    Drive
DriveSmart 52,55,65,66,76 and 86 at this time......
    Zumo XT
    Alpha 200i series
    Montana 700 series

And more newer models will come from Garmin that can not be patched.

It's not exactly like that. These units can work with any ill-gotten map using an old Nelson's trick. It's just that no one will discuss it in this compromised forum.

I have been on the other forum many times and Garmin_Nuvi clearly states the patcher will not work on any of these models from Garmin.

does not recognise the new format
The point I am driving home is if a user buys one of these models from Garmin to beware you will have to pay for other Garmin Maps if you need them.

What has that to do with the FW patcher if it's possible to patch the map protection by Nelson's method.

    Agreed.
What I say is the "Universal Firmware Patcher for Protected Garmin Devices" does not recognise the FW once I have it if you try to Patch these newest devices.
The Pre-install trick is another thing but I didn't think we are publicising it.

The whole point of me posting what I said is not to talk about patching on this forum.

Now we have a whole discussion on patching Garmin Units that should not even been talked about.

What ever method that is out there should be talked about elsewhere and not here.

I do not care if there are 100 ways to do this it is not to be not to be discussed here.

With all due respect, you started this thread "New Garmin GPS Units info" and others responded ,adding clarity.
None of the respondents have posted anything on any other methods until you "opened the can of worms".
