So you use PFGT to open the .gpi file and it said "History Channel Data"? And with that huge size? Very odd. Anyway, good luck with the new model you're going to get.

@osiris4isis
I had 2597, it was very good and voice activated. It is very close in shape to Drive 52. If I remember I had no any problems installing anything to that unit. But as you say "slick", this is much slicker. It's very fast, it respond almost immediately, also provide you with good info during drive.
Thanks.

I have update for this topic.
I bought DriveSmart 55, used in pristine condition.
It has everything updated to the latest, nothing for me to update.
All maps, 3D, JCV and GPI files are offically updated, because all have .gma and .unl attached.
But it had USCanadaCyclops file for March 2020 stand alone.
I have copied this file to my Drive 52 and it show up and working.
I didn't do anything with it (unlock, decrypt) just copied to my computer and later to Drive 52.
Looks like it's unlocked or decrypted, not sure about that, but no other Cyclops file will work on this Drive 52.
The previous owner of this GPS really smart guy for sure.
On side note, this DriveSmart 55 is stunning GPS. Full glass front panel design and performance.
Drive 52 looks outdated in comparison, even they both are released in 2019.

That's most probably the Not Locked to any device Cyclops sample installed during manufacture.

Hi,
I have the same problem with Garmin 52 unit. Is there a workaround in order to have the Cyclops.gpi file to be recognized by the GPS unit?
Thank you.
If you mean Garmin nuvi 52 there's no problem using unlocked (decrypted) Cyclops files without any modification to the device's firmware. If you mean Garmin Drive 52 then there's a problem using modified files because the firmware is protected. For some protected devices there is a firmware patch available which overcomes the protection but not for Drive 52 because it's firmware is encrypted and there's no publicly available solution to date.
@OvidiuRusu,
