As i don't think the GPS V will literally 'say' anything except 'beep', i guess you mean what it's 'saying' on the screen for the upcoming turn.
MapSource has been known to have errors in the img files it's generated from recent NT maps but should be ok with the Old Format non-NT mapping data. To eliminate any chance of that, redo the img file with MapInstall: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
Maybe it's to do with you moving from 2005 'City Select' to 2009 'City Navigator' mapping, but i wouldn't have thought so. It may be unrelated to the map itself, you can also try a reset but you could lose saved data. With GPS V i think it's this to reset it:
Hold the Menu button and turn on to reach 'Reset User Data' option then select the 'Yes' option.
Or:
Hold the OUT and QUIT buttons together then turn it on to cause a 'Global Reset', without any warning option.
This resets all of the GPS V info except the maps loaded in memory. This will cause you to have to re-initialize the unit and reset all of your options like it was just new 'out of the box'.
