Usually flakey usb with 1xxx is not with the socket itself but because of broken connections to the mo. Reflowing the connections will usually fix that, need a good eye a steady hand and the correct kit whether reflowing the existing or installing a replacement. You should be able to buy a pcb mini usb socket from most electrical component suppliers or search online, or scavenge one off another dead unit.

one connection was ripped of from MB so it cant be fixed. And that socket are shorter than any others usual sockets
I've never had to buy one because always plenty of dead boards in the parts drawer. Probably easier to get a seat on the next space shuttle than source one from Garmin. So best just scavenge one.
