Hello,

I am trying to assist a friend to get a Bluechart G2 vision in to his GPSMAP 420 but my experience on Marine devices is limited.

I have downloaded VEU712L (Unlocked version)

I downloaded, unpacked, and copy the img file to a "Garmin" folder in a SD card but the GPS cant find the map?

is it ok to keep the VEU712L.img name or do i have to rename it to somthing like gpsmap.img ?

can this device use unlocked maps or do i have to use the locked and make an .unl file?

Do i have to "activate" the map in some menu on the device?

Anybody whit a hint what i am doing wrong?
