    You can retrieve HWID in GarminDevice.xml in your nuvi, for example this from a 3790:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Device xmlns="http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/GarminDevice/v2" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/GarminDevice/v2 http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/GarminDevicev2.xsd"><Model><PartNumber>006-B1101-00</PartNumber>
    but it should be 827
    l9ebnsm
    You have to navigate to get to the good.

    Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600

    Thank you for your excellent and fast input. Based on your cited example, then you're indeed correct. My XML file showed the following:

    <PartNumber>006-B0827-00</PartNumber>

    You should reflash the logo as Loly said before you end up with more problems. But be cautious flashing a 200W logo bin as your unit may actually use a 205W logo. Best to extract your present rgn16 so that we can see what it is, even though it may be damaged it may still be able to be identified. Use this kit to attempt extraction: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Unzip it onto a clean SD card and then if it works post the file named 16_backup.bin which will appear in the root of the card if the extraction is successful.
    I'd suspected this 200W-205W identity mix-up awhile back when I updated its SW initially. With the update, I'd audio directions with street-name all of a sudden after the update. Its case is labelled as a 200W--but 200W is not supposed to have street-names. I never gave it much thought--just happy with the added feature.

    The region 16 seemed to have been successfully extracted but I cannot upload it as an attachment to this post. Keep getting the following error:

    16_backup.bin - Invalid File

    The bin file shows as a 512KB file. Anyway, I give it another try...

    [Edit] Tried the extraction again, and the file seemed to have been extracted OK but I can't attached the file to this post--maybe because it's a bin file? Anyway, I uploaded the file to MediaFire at:

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    [/Edit]

    [Edit2] Viewing this extracted file with a hex editor shows that my 200W's Region 16 doesn't seem to contain anything--no logo at all, thus the erased splash status? [/Edit2]

    Thanks for the input but no difference--still no pic on power-on.

    [Edit] Forgot to mention that I only had one POI file, 006D135900.gpi (1,132KB). I don't have a SD card in the unit while the GPS is in-use--not needed in my application. [/Edit]
