Dasilvarsa, I couldn't understand where are you connecting the 12V adapter of the nuvi? Are you using a new lighter?
If Caty agrees let this be a topic where each can post his way for mounting his GPS in his car. Could be attractive and usefull. Technical topic...

Yes there is a new lighter socket connected to a switched, fused, power source from the rear fuse box of the car.
