nuvi 3790t audio test diagnostic utility problem

When I go to the Audio Test under the diagnostic utility of my nuvi 369t I can't seem to play any phrase. I pick a phrase and press "play phrase" but there is no sound output. Is this utility really working?

Yes it works
Change your language to American english and it will work

A test you can do with your language : touch speed in map page, hold on center of speedometer for some seconds and reach diagnostic page. Touch developer info/ audio voice test/ three bar button/speak

I've tried changing my language to American English and went to that Audio test same page again and all I can play is "incompatible audio" and "1 khz". All other phrases plays the incompatible audio phrase. What's that mean?

I think it is working now for American English but not for American English-Jill. Does that mean if I want my device's voice to speak street names (TTS), I lose the ability for it to speak warning signals like "searching for satellites", "external power lost", etc.?
