    Default Erisin ES1158V - WINCE 6 - Igo problem

    Dear friends,

I would appreciate some help with instalation proper version of Igo on this device Erisin ES1158V - WINCE 6 (detailed specification of device is on this site [Only registered and activated users can see links. ])

    1) I installed iGO8 - 3.5.193799 software on fresh formated 8gb kingston sd card FAT32. Extracted Igo on microsd card and got this folder structures: F:\Nav N Go iGO 8.3.5.193799\MobileNavigator.exe (and folders like CONTENT, LICENCE, etc.)
    2) inserted sd card into GPS SLOT (there are two slots one for GPS and other sd card slot for music)
    3) Tried to set NAVPATH to IGO but found out that sd card isnt recognized so I cant set NAVPATH to this .exe file which should activate IGO.
    Here is picture:

    4. When open folder icon above "NAVPATH" my SD card isnt detected showing nothing just symbol [...]
    5. This is Info of the device

    My questions:
    1. what am I doing wrong?
    2. Why my card isnt recognized in NAVPATH folder?
    3. Is this correct version of Igo software for this device?
    4. Should I format card with specific format values?

Any help would be great guys. Thanks in advance.

    Rename iGO8.exe to NaviSoft.exe
Rename iGO folder to AWSoftWare, put it in root of SD card.

And, since it is quite new device, better use some [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
    The same rule about naming.

Can you upload original software somewhere, i would love to see which one is it.
If you don't want to go public with it, send me pm.

@BokiSrb I know this is so annoying but I want to thank you for everything you wrote on this forum and your big help in other threads too (i know like button is there but just need to write this). I also want to appologize for making technical mistakes when writing posts I promise I will never repeat same mistake when your correct it.

I will apply this instructions which I already got from our community member Rocky_Balboa earlier in pm. About software I wouldnt mind shareing anything to this community because that is at least what I can to contribute to community. But problem lays there because user already lost that originally gps card where i suppose was this software NaviSoft.exe he accidentially dropped it and never find. If I get it I will share it no problem. I will also report about this succession of this proccess.

    REPORT:

    Couldnt make it running:

    1. renamed folder to "AWSoftWare" put it in root of SD card. Changed ".exe" file to "NaviSoft.exe" and didnt help.
    2. In frustration even created folder "StorageCard" and put "AWSoftWare" in it to try that way :D (because of NAVPATH from picture in OP) still nothing.

Strange thing is when I click "folder option" to determine Nav Path, SD CARD isnt recognized. A little bit confused first time facing this problem with WINCE devices. Maybe this device is locked if someone has another idea be free to share it

SD card for sure formatted to FAT32?

What happens when you remove the card and press the nav button?

    Edit:
found an few old discussions, the man had the same problem as yours. In the end it turned out that his SD slot was damaged. Settings are OK.

Btw, to change path tap on this button:

    @Boki_Srb

SD card 101% formated in FAT32

When I click GPS, no matter if card is in the slot or ejected, it gets me to this screen

    Spoiler: NAV SCREEN
    6z20FJy

Here we can choose, among other icons, "GPS" and "SETTINGS".

    1. When I choose "GPS" message pops up saying "Navigation software not found".
    2. When I choose "SETTINGS" it gets me to the screen same as on "PIC 1" (your last post).
    3. When I click that "FOLDER-BUTTON" as in "PIC 1" (your last post) it gets me to the same screen as in "PIC 2" where it shows "NandFlash" folder.
    4. When I click "NandFlash" as in "PIC 2" to browse my ".exe" file, "NandFlash" icon become "Return button - something like circle arrow". I cannot see my folder structure of sd card.

I found some informations about chinese navigation wince devices where users encounter same problems and they solve it with creating some kind of file "maplunch.ini" which is created in NOTEPAD and should write somthing like this:

    [MAP]
path=iGO8\iGO8.exe;<-- this indicates how the gps find the path to execute IGO8.exe, change to your needs (program)
bmpiconpath = iGO8\ui_igo8\800_480\loading_1.bmp;<-- this indicates to load loading picture at the beginning of startup of the gps and the resolution is 800*480, if not, change to the proper numbers, note that IGO8 uses "ui_igo8", not "ui_igo9" which is for PRIMO

When i try to find "maplunch.ini" in my IGO folder couldnt find this file. I dont know where to put this file when I create it? Also I could find UI_igo8" folder in my I go installation folder.

If device has an option to manually set GPS path from "Navigation software path" option, than there is absolutely no need for ini files, I'm 100% about that. I think you may have an hardware issue and the SD cards cannot be detected by the system. Maybe there is a broken SD slot or the pins inside. I believe that you also tried with different SD cards (2 GB 4 Gb, 8 GB or 16 GB)? In some vintage wince systems there was also a problem reading SD HC standard SD cards. I had an old iGO8 running device which didn't accepted HC standard SD cards. Instead, it only worked with very old 2GB SD (none HC) card which is "unfortunately" very hard to find these days.

Interestingly, I have come across several different forums, from different periods, by different users - same problem.
This points to a serial failure in the device - low quality SD slot.
The device is a newer generation that has no problem with cards of different types and sizes. There is no need for any additional software settings. It was delivered with iGO, some Polish navigation software and few more. The default setting is with those AW sooftware, to which the device returns after reset, but can be easily changed as mentioned.
