İs there a way to get rid of the pedestrian crossings or children crossing appearing on the navigation map?

I guess if you a LOCAL you know all the Pedestrian crossings in your area and slow down accordingly "Yes" I bet not.
A good feature to keep active me thinks.

OK, may be it is important for safety,
but fills up the screen, too many of them and it is annoying.
some may want to see them but some don't want to see them.
if they can be deactivated, than how is it done?

I believe some contributors to this thread are getting confused between on-route warnings while navigating and off-route icons cluttering the maps. If you want to keep the warnings for crossings which are on your path while navigating, but remove the clutter of off-route pedestrian and rail crossings on the map, you must find the icons in data.zip and make them transparent. So far I cannot explain how to do this but I am experimenting... If I work it out I will post instructions unless someone else can help

crossings or pedestrian crossing are part of the file * .fda. delete these - and all alerts are gone. IMO nobody wants.....
you only need to turn off the sound and / or TTS announcement, already nerves are spared

delete icon/signs in file *.fda: the next Map-Update will be back!
