    nextgen Modify keyboard iGO Primo 8.5 Zenec

    I have an early igo Primo, its's igo 8.5. My keyboard only shows capitalized letters. There's no SHIFT Key to switch between lower and upper case. I compared the keyboard.ui and keyboard.lua from ego primo and nextgen, but I was not able to add the missing SHIFT Key in my keyboard layout.
    Has anyone an idea?

    That is first edition of Primo, pretty poor language files came with him.
    Just download better language file (German, I guess). Any newer from Primo 2 packages will be OK.

    Within Language file there is a Keyboard.ini there is no decisive difference between Those versions. It Must be within Keyboard.ui and respectivly kyboard.lua. Within Keyboard.ui there is a key that is defined as ALT-key, but theres no key defined as SHIFT key. I can Add a new key and name it Shift. The key will be dispayed properly, but I dont know the name of the function that should Shift the whole keyboard to upper or lower case when Pressed.

    I tried your lang-file, but that didn't work. And this was not surprising to me. The keyboard.ini in the new lang file suggest keyboard layouts, that are not defined in MY keyboard.ui. I have a customized keyboard.ui (ZENEC) that lacks the SHIFT key by scripting. They must have kick that out, I assume. However. I need to reimplement the SHIFT-key in den UI. So a corresponding keyboard.ui would be more helpful to reinsert the right code for the SHIFT Key.

    Strange, since I tested that file with iGO 8.5. Works without any problem, even with skin.
    Bt, I noticed something now, You mentioned - Zenec?
    Edited title of topic
    But, you should know that ZENEC UI is highly customized. So, if you mixed content, problem is on that side. With default Primo First edition, even with skin, no problems with any lang file.

    Thanks a lot! I assume this line is helpful:

    <TEMPLATE kbd_shift template=footer4_1a text="Shift" onlongclick='run sc_show_btn_help "Shift"' textmodel_wstr="local.keyboard.lbl_shift" enabledmodel="local.keyboard.mod_shift.valid" KEYBOARDSPECELEMENT="shift">

    I will try this and report back.
