    Question Montana 650t Questions

    Hi fella's

I've had a Montana 650t for ages and have only recently picked it up again to use while hiking.

I have a few question on its use with maps etc. Here goes.

Is it faster to use one map per card rather than jamming a load onto one card?
At present I have a lot of maps on one card but its sloooooow to reveal the map

How do you fellas mark your memory cards up?
I cant make any sort of legible text on the cards,

Is it faster to put small maps onto the internal memory?

Can I remove the base map from the device to make room for another map and replace it if I need it?

    thanks for any help

Device loads one tile at a time, so having many maps or just one IMHO is the same. You have a slower Montana startup only with many maps loaded . DEM map enabled makes device slow in displaying map, you can disable it and see the difference.

If you mean how to rename .imgs: anyname.img

Maps in internal memory draw faster in gps, but it depends on sd quality. Small or big has no importance: see my first reply.

Better no, basemap helps to draw maps faster and removing it can cause many problems in many devices.
