Updating Garmin 96c maps

I am new to this forum, came across it in Google.

I have a Garmin 96c, which has very limited internal memory for maps. Previously I had been using MetroGuide v8 North America (with the neat unlock provided by MetroGold ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) to get MetroGuide to be routable in MapSource.

I noticed that MetroGuide is deprecated, being replaced by City Navigator. I got an unlocked City Navigator NT img, but was having problems using the solution at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to get the img into mapsource. I got the detail preview error above, and noticed that the problem was that cgpsmapper cannot be used with NT. I tried the patched cgpsmapper and v1.77 of MapSetToolkit, but still no luck.

I am not pressed to use City Navigator, I just want some maps for the 96c that are updated (MetroGuide v8 is from 2009). So if there is a solution for NT or a solution that just gets routable road maps on the 96c I would appreciate it.

Yeah that is what I figured. Do you know what the current Garmin non-NT maps are? The only ones I could find were for Canada.
