Backup your favorites on Garmin n�vi 1200

During a software update on my Garmin n�vi 1200 through myGarmin, my favorites disappeared. I contacted Garmin and they gave me this tip: before the next update (or anytime), you can do a backup of you favorites by connecting the device via USB to your computer. You would then open and access the Garmin n�vi drive. You would then open the Garmin folder and the GPX folder. Copy and paste the current.gpx file to your computer as this is your favorites.
