Maps for Garmin Camper 785

Who knows how to install third-party maps in the device Garmin Camper 785?
This device is Android OS.

You need to spend sometime reading info from Garmin Website.

You can always look at this file garmindevice.xml shows where everything goes on any Garmin Unit be it on the memory or SD card.


All Garmin Device Map Folder \Map (either internal or external on SD) for storing additional IMGs.

Outside this folder only two Maps are recognized, gmapprom.img in folder \.System and gmapsupp.img in folder \Garmin
Outdoor Device use instead folder \Garmin (either internal or external on SD) for storing any additional .IMG Maps you want.

But all of this you should know already if you have done a little research.

And looking back on your older posts you have been dealing with Garmin as far back as 2014 so you should know your way around any Garmin GPS Unit by now.

I perfectly understand what you are talking about
I know how to manage maps
But I tried to install maps in the device that are not locked and the device reported an error and does not display them
Most likely need to modify the device firmware

What maps are we talking about here??
All open maps are free and have no restrictions.
If you are trying to use a Official Garmin maps then you will have a problem.
From what I understand some of the new Garmin Units at this time can not be patched.

If I were you and you really need an official Garmin Map other that what comes with the Garim 785 then pay for it.
This unit comes with all of Europe and most have life time map updates.

Or just use free TOPO maps of the area you need.

Okay, I'm interested , can you take a screenshots of the system info?

Why don't you try to install some other software?

I have already installed on this device Igo Primo Nextgen, MapsMe,Google Maps
Everyone works without problems
But I would like to install maps for Garmin

All open maps are free and have no restrictions.
If you are trying to use a Official Garmin maps then you will have a problem.

Or just use free TOPO maps of the area you need.

I tried to install map Dorogi_Belarus
it is free and has no restrictions
But it doesn't work

Install JaVaWa Device Manager on you PC and connect your SD card with the map on it. It will give you info about the Map.

There might be errors on the map.

Then post a screen shot.

I do not see the Garmin Icon on the screen.....

Does the Camper map that came with the 785 work OK???

Plus no where can I find anything to do with Android or be able to add apps such as IGO GPS???

This is the only Garmin GPS that I know of that has Android on it.
