Good posting rules to follow by everyone by Catymag
the order is arbitrary:
First: Don't unnecessarily quote an entire post. Especially links and pictures. If needed, only quote the relevant line(s) of the post you are responding to.
So after clicking QUOTE in editor, look at what are you posting and remove unnecessary quoted content.
Reason: threads will otherwise become uselessly long, especially on phones where the quote cut off doesn't work.
Second: It's a good habit not to quote the previous post in the one you are posting, unless it is relevant to your response. Then use only the part of the post to which it refers.
A quote is generally used if the post you reply to is higher up in the thread.
Reason: as above.
Third: Put sys.txt commands (and generally a long text) in CODE tags: "#" button in Advanced Editor. All will be clearer and easier to read.
Reason: as above.
Fourth: Edit instead of posting consecutive posts (one post immediately following the other), unless someone else has already posted after you.
Consecutive posts by the same poster will be merged.
Reason: as above.
Fifth: Pictures should be in Spoiler tags: "S" button in Advanced Editor.
Sixth: Hidden content must not be quoted because it is not allowed on the forum.
There are some tricks to reveal this content in quotes, reason it is against Forum Rules.
We respect members who put hidden content here. If they want content is hidden, it must be hidden.
Seventh: Meaningless posts of gratitude contribute nothing. Use LIKE button.
Eight: If you haven't done so yet, read [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]![]()
