There is a mention of a power down error I saw in the hidden menu. Maybe there is a code for it.
And yeah I have tried USB's in our 2 high end gaming PC's plus a lowish end but ok MSI laptop.
So to be clear Iv'e done the
* Firmware cure
* RMPrepUSB format correctly
* Original Firmware
* WebUpdater to get voice, language file etc
* Reset device (press lower right and power on)
^^^ Did that at-least 3 times.
* Reset Clear Nonvol
* Ran chkdsk (found no errors)
* Tried updating with a fully charged unit, no difference.
There is still a problem powering down writing reasonably small files 1MB and the like when installing several vehicles - (like 6 at a time) can cause it to power off. But it's writing the large .img file that is the biggest concern. I must of been looky to manage to get it to write the 366MB map to the storage before it decides to shutdown.
I guess I'd have no chance at all attempting to write the 2.6GB Western Europe map to the device (I tried once yesterday, no look, powered down), so for now the 366MB UK/Ireland map will suffice.

. . . . . Keep calm and let TATE handle it . . . . .
Loly, i guess it's still region 48 for xx nuvis:
from AU nuvi 50.Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
@djdyna
The region we are talking about is where the internal memory is stored as Loly said. The problem you are having with the device crashing when large files are written to internal memory maybe can be corrected by dumping the region to sd and then writing it back. An off-chance really, but do you want to try? If so, Loly or i will make a pack for you to do this.

I will try anything yeah. Is this a new problem you've encountered before?

No, when i've checked it's much bigger: 48.bin is 1,939,865,600 bytes and internal memory is 557,540,096 bytes.

You have 557 data on it but all storage size is 2Gb and reg 48 dump is backup of all storage.
If you delete all internal storage and create reg48 dump you will have again 2Gb bin file like if you right click on nuvi letter in explorer and open properties.
Ok, makes sense now. But head hurts, so going to bed. You northerners may have sorted this out by the [southern] morning i hope .....
