The reason I ask is I am going to a remote part of India, CN only has main roads, MapMyIndia seems to have more, India Satguide maps had some different streets and a Himalaya map has a chunk of my journey. Am I better off leaving everything turned on and let the machine (Zumo 660) figure it out, or, do I keep checking maps as I go to see which is suitable?
I've tried to enable at the same time 2 maps of the same country: the first coming from Mapsource and the 2nd one is made by a third party. This way It seems not to work very well on my Nuvy205.

Routable maps covering the same area can give problems in gps, better to select one at a time

    Default Multiple Topo maps

**Warning - Newbie question - apologies**

    I have:

    Euro Recreational V3 (FID 469 PID 1 Priority 20)
    Topo France V3 (FID 2554 PID 1 Priority 31 L)
    Topo Greece V3 (FID 469 PID 1 Priority 20)
    Topo Austria V3 (FID 2562 PID 1 Priority 30)
    Topo Switzerland V3 (FID 5052 PID 1 Priority 30)

All on the same sim card, one each for Edge 800 and Dakota.

Only Euro Recreational shows up in device map lists, Mapinstall and Basecamp.

How can I get to select either Euro-wide or country-specific Topo and see them individually?

    Thanks

I think it has nothing to do with priority, but with may be these maps have MS flag 0.
Check with Gmaptool and change it in case.

or maps are not unlocked, or there are too many map tiles in your gps.

    Thanks for the hint.

Every time I ask, it gets more complicated rather than less.

A tool to check and tidy up is just what I need. I'll use Javawa to try to correct everything I have done badly over the years - 3 devices, 4 sim cards, 3 PCs, 15 maps (different versions, parts overlap etc etc) and no real idea of what I was doing.

    Wish me luck

(and I will back up before I start!)

Is there any chance that the gmapbmap.img can overlay on top of the gmapprom.img ?
Is Garmin smart enough that gmapprom will always be higher priority than the gmapbmap?

Basemaps are generally priority 0 and CNs [as gmapprom or anyname] are 30.

Only if you have a some of loaded overlapping maps in device there is feasibility to see basemap in place of loaded maps in overlapping area...
Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?

If you want to view the BaseMap just switch off the detailed maps (untick).

So, can one edit the priority to suit oneself?
