Second - mobile pc will see my gps reciever and it will even pull the id off it as well as show which sats it is connected to - but it gives a error message that it is not a recognized device.

hi, maybe i am just not reading it right but i do not understand how to run the "fix" file... it keeps saying it can not find the earlier version. i have read the instructions about winrar but can not see what you are trying to tell me to do. please help i need the dumb version of the instructions lol

NOTE running win 7 x64

Simply unrar the downloaded file and you'll get GarminMobilePC_50070.exe, unrar again to decompress the .exe and run MAIN.msi to install it

I think not ...... :
in my experience you can change only the fonts in the map
Edit ----preferences----click on change map fonts : you will see a window in wich you can choose the font (and dimension) you prefer.

But .... you can try to decrease font size in Windows , maybe work in this way?

I presume you want to change text languages from screens and set your own text language. If i´m right, you should go x:\GarminMobilePC\Text where .gtt files should be. Here you have 2 options, you choose an existing language .gtt file and you edit file with notepad and then you can do your traduction for your own required language and SAVE (not save as) in the end. Or you can try to find a GarminMobilePC compatible .gtt file with your language and put it to x:\GarminMobilePC\Text

Note: I think .gtt files from Garmin Oregon are compatible with GarminMobilePC.

If your problem is just the dimension of fonts, i think you should try another resolution screen in windows, eventually update your graphics card drivers or also try to set new font size in Microsoft Windows.
