They go inside Garmin/POI
@ alcol
Just what I wrote persep
I add only that the GPI and GPX files with the extension at any location of the SD or the root is processed anyway.
By convention and clearness, should be precisely installed in the indicated path
Bye,bye
In addition, as long as the actual poi files are correct, you may place them in a folder with any name, named 'fine savers' or even 'xxx' if you want, not only on the SD but also in a nuvi's internal memory (even in .system folder). They'll be found by the unit and recognised no matter where they are. Oh but it were the same for ALL garmin files!

so I can put inside SD inside SD/POI subdir for example but my trouble was:
All the zip file as-is or only UNL file and I have to remove UNL_ suffix or what else?
thanks
Just copy the UNL files inside your garmin/poi folder either in the gps or in the sd card, it doesn't matter
You can add ALL the files from ONE of the 2 folders, but you only need add the files for the Countries required: e.g. after extracting Cyclops_December-22-2012.rar you have 2 folders, Original and Unlocked, and also a text file, GPI_data.txt which contains all the FID PID RID VID info for each file. If you use the .gpi files from 'Original' you will need to generate .unl codes for them, see the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] clearly given in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for further details. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] of this thread also gives unlocking instructions. If you wish to avoid that, from the folder 'Unlocked' just copy the required *.gpi files as-is to your Unit or SD's POI folder, such as UNL_safety_camera_Australia.gpi for instance.
If you want to rename a gpi file, you can call it anything as long as you keep the correct extension and it's differently named to any other file in the folder. Call it Australia.gpi or poi.gpi if you want, or as you asked just remove UNL_ for that matter, it will still work.
In your earlier post you say there are 70 pages to read, and that the keygen is no longer available. Neither is actually true. You only needed to read and follow Posts 1 & 2 here and to then take the files from the latest post by pietu. JetMouse is [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] on the Noeman server in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] in that thread.

.gpi files "Original" have FID greater than 2200, .unl made with JM wont work in new devices and firmwares.
JM can be used with patched FID 800/900 Cyclops.
Not sure about the utility to have "Not Original Patched Cyclops" and their .unl files in Nuvi instead of unlocked ones and no .unl files as Neil wrote above
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
Ha! Yes Caty, i must've still been hungover. Of course a JM unl code will not work with unpatched originals in modern units and fw. You must first change the ID's and then an JM unl code will work. And if you are going to use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to change the original id's to FID 700 or 900, PID 1, RID 0, VID 0 ... well, then you may as well just use it to fully unlock them to FID 65535, PID 255, RID 255, VID 0 and just skip the JM unlock .....
In which case you may as well simply use the already unlocked ones from pietu and save yourself any trouble at all.
