Add Garmindevice.xml from this nuvi on USB stick in folder Garmin and run mapupdater.
Then you add manualy some file on nuvi and some in SD![]()
@rosanna
You are probably misunderstanding what Loly is saying. Don't use your unit with an sd card in it when you run MapUpdater. He is saying to make a 'fake unit' to fool MapUpdater (you can also do it with WebUpdater) to download ALL the files in one place onto a large enough USB stick, or a usb attached sd or microsd. You can then copy over whatever appropriate files which fit onto your unit's memory, and put the rest of the files onto an sd provided they are appropriate to go there (eg Maps & JCV etc).

i understood very well what Loly said
and in the past i did but this is not the point
i know Mapupdater on some device stores some files with a folder structure on the sd , and other files in the unit
i don't know which files and the directory structure(sub folder and so on) are stored in the sd , and i don't know which are stored in the unit
i can know only if some users will post the files and folder list on the sd
using a fake unit , i got all the files and folders on the usb stick or a sd but after , which files should i copy in the sd and which in the garmin unit?
thanks
OK, so you understood it. But you did answer it with: 'the mapupdater ..... leaves some files in the garmin unit and i guess the map and jvs conjunction files on the sd'? How could it do that if the unit was not used in conjunction with Mapupdater? In any case, voyager has answered in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Put any other files on internal memory.
