Ciao Catymag,
After installing and unlocking City Navigator Europe NT 2012.10 with unlock mapset.exe (thanks for your instructions), in order to save room on my hard disk, is it possible to uninstall all previous version of City Navigator?
Grazie

Hi there!
First of all, thanks Catymag for all the steps to Mapsource install!
The problem is I'm using a Kenwood / Garmin automotive system, to be exact a DNX7480BT and it really needs the GMA file to work properly, I don't want to remove and reinsert the card everytime I want it to work. Even with the unlocked IMG file, system doesn't recognize it as unlocked. Is there any way to create a GMA file?
Thanks in advance.
if you unlock it with Fast IMG Unlocker you wont need .gma file, no way to create .gma file.
If the system doesnt recognize it ,there is another problem, may be not valid img renaming or old map .gma file present in your device ? Do you put it in sd or doesnt your unit use an sd ?
Be more precise with your problem description, please

I can't believe in a not valid IMG renaming, I'd rather follow the GMA file present in the device idea.
My unit does use an SD, a micro one to be exact. In this new model unfortunately there is no way to copy to internal memory.
I'm assuming the problem is with the GMA file because the only SD Card working properly has this file, all the others (all Garmin official) aren't.
Forgot to mention a folder named PNX (with a PNX file under it), what's it for?
First backup all the content of your sd on pc, then make some tries
It should work ( in a Garmin folder) the unlocked gmapsupp.img (no .gma)
sorry I donnow what is PNX but you can read something about it [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
About updating maps in internal memory read here, may be it's possible

Copying to internal memory was really possible in the previous models (as this ´09 DNX5240BT) since they (and '10 as well) had internal "accessible" memory (either connecting a PC in the Mini-B port in the back or through a menu on the very same equipment screen) - Garmin provided the navi board which was connected to Kenwood audio one. Now for the '11 models, they merge both navi and audio portion into the same board and blocked access to internal memory. Added with GMA thing, they turned the unit almost "unhackeable". =(
PNX is not really a problem, my main concern is still with the GMA, I've trying every single unlocker and follow all the procedures but even previous original Garmin SD Card aren't working because this file is missing and what's worse, this information is Kenwood official.
