OK....I got a number of nuvi 660's from a fleet company that was upgrading their units
( no they are not stolen)
some of them have the Splash Screen option and some don't...the ones that don't have the company info as the splash which I want to change
Here is what I have done....
Units came with FW 4.30.....I updated all to 4.9....( newest version) hoping hat it would add the Splash Screen option.....it did not
Then I tried loading a prior version...3.9 and 4.2...It did not fix the Missing Splash screen option
All the normal Pics for the splash Screen are loaded in the Jpg folder
Anyone know my options here?.......I need help with this
I can tell that they were made for the company from Garmin...Since they bought 100'S...their Id is on the factory tag
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
More info ::
Because we have now 2 F/W contain logo.bin (2x5 / 1355 Chinese)
So you will get it with your own risk (ie logo.bin of 2x5serie + Boot.bin of Nuvi660 ==> Result ?!?!)
No one can ensure you that your 660 will be OK after falshing.
(1355 logo.bin can be used for 7x5 , 2x5 ., 14xx , 13xx., But for 660==> ????)
If you have screen 4.3 use 1355 logo.bin
If you have screen 3.5 use 2x5 logo.bin
In inventory page you must look for number splash (nuvi 1300 is D1340-00)and write it to paper.
With hex editor change number in logo.bin to your number of splash screen.
With gir editor change picture and calculate checksum and save.
With rgn tool use your original boot.bin and add logo.bin and save to .rgn (eg.082501000490.rgn)first four numbers is your bootBLK number(HWID)last three is your curent firmware number.
Flash with updater.exe.
Thanks for the replies....I am not a novice but this may take me a while to figure out....kinda timid on this one....we will see
Send me your boot BLK (your HWID) number and firmware version number and i create it for you.
Finally got it close enough for now with the help of ( you both know who you are)....Had to use the 2X5 logo bin.....Still trying to fine tune things...
Thanks to both of you
