Is it normal that after unpacking I need to burn it onto a CD? Why can´t I just save it onto an SD-card? Please help a computerally challenged...

It's not a disc image like IMG or ISO for CD & DVD copies. Just copy the "gmapsupp.img" file to a memory card and place it in the "Garmin" directory there.

Sorry, I am stupid...can you explain step by step how to do it? I tell you what I did so far: I downloaded both files and tried to unzip them. At the end of the unzipping it asked me to burn it to a CD. What do you mean I should place it in the Garmin directoy on the SD card? How to do that, where to get the Garmin directory? Sorry for all the stupid questions, but this is the first time I am doing this and I really am help- and clueless...

gmapsupp.img is Garmin map image, ready to put in your sd. Insert the sd in your pc ,create in the sd a folder named Garmin and put the file gmapsupp.img inside- That's all

there is just one img splitted in 2 rar files, just unrar part one, you'll obtain 1 img, the one you must copy in sd
