Only the Asian Units have TTS and are able to proounce it.
So even when you get a TTS voice for your unit, as long there is European/US Firmware on it, no TTS. Only when flashing to an Asian Firmware

Garmin 255 uk, tts
Hi everyone, new to this site so not too sure where to post this question.
Been doing a search to see if i could add TTS to my garmin 255, the american version seems to have it, but for some reason the uk one doesnt.
Can i somehow get my uk one to talk the street names to me?

It's about small 255, not wide version. According to Garmin US specifications 255 has TTS, Asian versions haven't.

Yes thats right, its the 255 not the 255W.
I Thought as the American one has TTS, then it wouldnt be a big job to add TTS function to the UK one, but i have Google for ages and cant figure it out!
