Hello I am Spanish and I translate with Google, sorry if there are grammatical error.
I wonder if it is possible to update the maps in a Garmin StreetPilot 2610, and if possible how to do
Thank's
Street Pilot 26xx series can't use maps with NT format.
Possible non-NT maps for coverage of Spain would be ...

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] - Topo map without routing.
Learn how to use Garmin MapSource and select map tiles from the installed maps and transfer to your unit. Instructions could be found in the tutorial index as described in the previous post.
Don't build a map file that exceeds 2 GiB in size since it's the limit for SP 2610.
sorry, but which one is it? I've done in my zumo 550 but in the
strrepilot of my friend does not know how to do
Firs, sorry for my English.
Second, I miss new thread because is too old device but if I am wrong, please correct me.
I use windows 8.1. Mapsource with newest GPS USB drivers can't detect StreetPilot2610. I rode to [email protected] and exchanged a couple of mails. Every time they answer me with trivial way. I have attached a screen shots and details, but they "don't understand" me and offered to tray with BaseCamp but situation is same.
This part was expected.
I have decided to tray on machine with WIN 7. Put the OLD version 2.0C, add the OLD USB driver (from 2010) and BaseCamp and Mapsource saw my StreetPilot2610 immediately .
Tray some option, transfer, every thing was perfect. In the meantime I decide to update the Mapsource AND I LOST THE GPS CONNECTION with PC.
Back in WIN 8.1. I have try to install the old version of BaseCamp but installation doesn't start. Nothing was happen.
Again on WIN 7. Unexpectedly I decide to try to reinstall the OLD USB driver in WIN 7 even without installing the old one. This experiment was positive. Every thing run perfect. Probably the update of BaseCamp and Mapsource provide the new USB driver which is crucial.
Back on WIN 8.1. Reinstall the BaseCamp and Mapsource. Run *.exe for old USB driver. No, effect is zero. No connection. Every thing was without effect. In device manager is appearing an yellow exclamation mark in any time ( with on or off Map Source and Base Camp).
My opinion is that the problem is in USB driver. It is not compatible with WINDOWS 8.1
I hope this help some one else.

REGARDS.
Maybe i'm confused here?.... The StreetPilot 2610 has a serial interface, not USB. Basecamp does not support devices with serial interfaces. Mapsource should still work however. I assume you must be using a USB to serial converter though. Perhaps that is not compatible with your computer?
Ah - sorry. I used to have one of these myself but it was many years ago. I thought the interface was serial, must have been thinking about one of my other antique devices, haha.

I can't understand why you're having problems other than now by re-installing an older version of the Garmin USB driver over [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] you've caused a compatibility problem. Using current usb driver both current BC v4.2.5 and the beta release of upcoming v4.3.0.2 work well in my Windows 8.1 with my SP 2610:
Maybe you need to completely uninstall everything and start again. It is possible to run the beta version of BaseCamp 4.3.0.2 side by side with an earlier version.
