Hi guys,
sri lanka, IMG, file, is working, Install garmin map source to your PC first. Then install the Sri Lanka Map.exe , (you will find a standalone installer with a complete map of Sri Lanka) and when you are prompted, ckick YES for "update garmin mapsource". After map installation is complete, open Garmin map source. You will see the installed map in "Map list".
If you can view the map on garmin map source, just plug the GPS to your PC, and click "Send to Device". Its working fine for me.

substitute your old map with the newer one,renaming it like the old one and overwriting it in Garmin folder- these are free maps no need an unlock procedure

guys i just wanna know if this will work with a regular gps? are these maps city navigator for garmin or the topo maps of SL for garmin?

yes, this is Garmin maps section, all the maps posted here work and are for Garmin devices

Hello,
is there anything new regarding a new routable Sri Lanka Map or does someone know a bigger MapSource-Map that includes Sri Lanka for export to MobileXT?
It seems the free OSM Maps are new, but not routable.
I can't believe that they are as good in Detail and Function as the 31 MB IMG-Version.
The new IMG-File there is 600kb only!

I did upload the installer for mapsource to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
As far as I can remember I did download from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] but at the moment access is denied to this site. Although the map is quite old (2007) it is the most detailed map of Sri Lanka that I do now of.Last edited by fluorescent; 27th August 2011 at 10:05 AM. Reason: typo
