This is even better than promised. I got the three RAR files from the IMG UNLOCKED links in the first post, which produced a GMAPSUPP.IMG file, 1,308,393,472 bytes. I installed this into my nuvi 650 and was astonished that it not only worked flawlessly for the US, but also for MEXICO, or at least the parts I could check from personal knowledge! The gps reads this a CNNAmerica2010.40, as expected

The unlocked img file certainly produces spoken street names in my nuvu 285wt, so it should work on the 205, I'd think.

It appears the 205 doesn't speak street names and it has no option to choose the TTS voices from the menu even though I copied them from my 255.

What creates the JCV files and does anyone know if they would work on a 255??
