I don't understand what this download (legend.zip)is for, can someone please clarify?

I transferred the unlocked India map from Orig post and transferred it to Garmin 255W for a friend, won't know if it works until he is in India. Is there a way to 'simulate' directions to a location to see if it works?

What if someone don't have old map installed and want to unlock it!!!
