Thread: Garmin City Navigator Taiwan 8.51 english

Finally? The map is around since November 2007 and has a huge bug made by Garmin.
If you search only the first letter is used, all other letters are ignored in Mapsource and as Image.

I have a US version of Garmin 255W. I am not sure it is better to install the English version of the Taiwan map or better with CHT version of the map. The latter definietely is newer but I am not sure how well it would work on the US unit. Thanks for sharing the map.

When I try to unarchive the map using 7z.... there is a password.

I currently have the Chinese version of the Taiwan map working on my phone.

It seems to work just fine but I'm really looking for a version that has PinYin (street names in Romanized English)

1) Where can I find which Garmin units are compatible with the Garmin City Navigator Taiwan 8.51 Eng.?
2) I tried to download the Garmin 8.51 Taiwan map, but the site is from Garmin Taiwan and they apparently no longer offer this product. Where can I find a copy?
3) I called Garmin in the US and asked about purchasing maps for Taiwan. They told me to go on the internet and search because they no longer carry maps for Taiwan. I downloaded the older 8.01 version, and now just need to unlock it in Mapsource but need an unlock code. How can I find out what GPS units are compatible with this older map?
