Default TomTom Rider 2 revival from WNRO

Hi All. I have a TT Rider 2nd edition in excellent condition which is obsolete because of the 2019 GPS Week Number Rollover. It seems so wasteful to discard it. Is there 3rd party software which could revive it? I read a post on advrider.com by a guy who had done so via this website but I can’t find a thread here relating to it. Thanks, Richard

Yes I did mine, but I'm not sure if all information available is at this forum.
But even mine Rider v2 is working perfect, when driving fast with winding roads it's hard to keep up the speed

I appreciate your reply, pe1agp. So if I can obtain the Navcore and boot loader software you used, my Rider 2nd edition should work? I read elsewhere on this forum that the chipset is the limiting factor. Do you know if this is true? I found through discussions.TomTom that my Rider 2nd Edition has a Sirf Star 3 chipset. The serial number of my device starts K22227.. if that information is useful.

Yes mine Rider v2 start also with K2.
It will find the satellites in a minute.
Which again depends on tall buildings around your location

    P.S.
    I found something here:

Thanks again pe1agp. May I ask one more favour of you? Could you please specify the process steps for using these files? I am reasonably competent with software but I have not tried before to update the TomTom unit directly, so I don’t want to mess it up.

Attention of the flash process must not be interrupted under any circumstances because the Navi else can be wrecked (which is like the PC, the BIOS upgrade)

    NOTE.
    To do the upgrade;
The Navcore used by the upgrade is outdated. You must therefore use an SD card with a capacity between 256 MB and 2 GB .
Also, the internal memory of the TT-Navi must be within this range, so for devices such as the GO920, which comes standard with 4GB, the following
applies : You must use an external SD card.
Please note that the procedure deletes files and folders after the upgrade. So, if you still want to upgrade to another device, you must resubmit the files from the update folder.

    Quick start Guide.
Assuming that your sat nav does not have an SD slot, the internal memory will be treated like the SD card.

1-Take a blank SD card and connect it to your PC.
2-copy the upgrade files from your model's folder to the SD root (or internal root directory).
3-Disconnect the SD card from the PC and remove the hardware safely.
4-Replace the SD on the TT, turn it on and wait for the upgrade, on average it takes a few minutes, even less.
4-Insert your SD card with the Navcore back into the device you normally use.
    GSW3.2.5TT3-CRC32_3.3.01.06-C34P3.00
and as always: upgrade at your own risk

Hello, could I please bump this up? I am trying to use an old TomTom Rider 2. The hardware seems working fine. I have app version 7.901 loaded with bootloader 5.5012. I have also updated on TomTom home with the last gpsfix. In order to backup my device, Windows asked me to repair the disk. I have now backed it up but since then the device only reads the Canary Islands maps and not anymore the Western Europe maps, probably the sd card is corrupted somehow. I have another card with the US maps and it reads them fine. Of course all these maps are outdated and I have no intention to use them but I would like to update the device. i have seen a 7 steps guide but it is not entirely clear to me. pe1agp, could you please give me more hints?

This just worked for my Tomtom Rider 2. I am glad I found this as I was having to use a pin to reset the device every time it turned off to get the the GPS to work a second time after each time I turned it off.
ps. If you leave it to reboot again with the flashing sd card in, it gives the message that it is going to flash your firmware again but doesn't so you can use it pin to reset / power off and then remove the flashing sd card. Then pop back in your own sd card with maps and voila.
