Thread: Producing an img file from aa City Navigator file set

Sounds like you are looking at City_Navigator_Europe_NTU_2023_20.gmap the folder on your PC (not the current version) used by MapSource or BaseCamp programs to create custom maps sets.
Garmin Express should have installed the gmap folder and all it's contents to C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps.
You will need to install 1 of the programs.
Even if you create a custom map set it will not work on your GPSMAP 64s as the gmap folder is only unlocked to the device that GE downloaded it for.

May I come back to my earlier question, which I must admit I had formulated rather unhandily.

So, I have this directory (not a file) City_Navigator_Europe_NTU_2023_20.gmap.

Inside, there are 2 directories (CNEuroNTU_2023_20_mdr and Product1) and 4 files (CNEuroNTU_2023_20.mdx, CNEuroNTU_2023_20_trf.trf, I0002575.TYP, Info.xml and Info_v2.xml).
Inside the first folder there are 2 files namely CNEURONT.MDR and CNEURONT.SRT.
Inside the second folder, there are 718 folders numbered from 00841977 to 00842005, each containing 1 .GMP file, and one more folder called CNEuroNTU_2023_20 within which are 6 files, all called CNEURONT (extensions LBL, NET, NOD, RGN, SRT and TRE).

I know that my patched 64s can handle an IMG file, but how do I get from this weird structure to that image file…? I thought there was a procedure somewhere on this forum but I just don’t manage to find it.

This sounds like you downloaded City_Navigator_Europe_NTU_2023_20 to you PC along with it to your DriveSmart 50 LMT-D.

You can only use City_Navigator_Europe_NTU_2023_20 for your DriveSmart 50 LMT-D even if you have Mapinstall , Mapsoure or BaseCampe on your PC and try to make a map from the PC version it will not work on your GPSMAP 64s because you do not have an unlock code for it.

If you obtained City_Navigator_Europe_NTU_2023_20 for your PC by means other than Garmin Express this forum can not help you with that.

There is nothing weird about the structure of a PC installed version, it is to used on a PC and not a Garmin Unit.....
You can map maps for a Garmin GPS unit with the correct software but it works for the DriveSmart 50 LMT-D only.
