Default Can iGO 8 use map and other data from two storage locations?

I dug out my old Rightway RW200 to update its maps. Through some misadventure of poking around I'd managed to wipe out the factory installed Co-Pilot and maps. I put GPS Menu on it and use that to launch Windows Explorer, then use that to copy files to and from an SD card.

The catch is with GPS menu and iGO 8 installed, without 3D building info and DEMs, it has just enough space in internal storage to copy the 2022 Q2 map FBL files. A bit over 1.52 gig. I may have to also delete the quite old POI files.
2022 POI files for just the USA are up to 282 megs.

With such limited internal space, is there a way to have iGO 8 get POI and other data off the SD card? If I wanted to add Canada and Mexico maps, reading them from the SD would make it possible. IIRC this old GPS can only use SD cards up to 2 gig, FAT16 or FAT32 format.

It could have more internal space because in the device's menu it has a video player, photo viewer, and text file reader. But I've never been able to see where they're hidden away. I don't know if the menu etc is all WinCE or something custom.

What makes this use of the internal storage possible is the navigation setup allows it to launch any WinCE executable when Navigation is selected.

It's the first GPS I bought and I'm being a bit nostalgic while seeing if it can handle current maps. It was able to use DEM for a bit of 3D land display but that slowed it down so that had to go.

    Of course
Nothing new came to your mind, you could have searched the forum a bit
For example, quick search: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], although it has been discussed in many.
    Applicable for every WinCE iGO.

And, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Just pay attention, that device has a small screen and is not strong enough, so you can stay with the iGO8, or to use Primo of the first generation ... iGO 8 doesn't use all file types from new map releases (Primo doesn't use all of them either)
So, if you remove all unnecessary content, it may happen that even your internal memory is enough.

But it is more practical for manipulation to transfer it to SD, and when you update later, the SD in the USB 2.0 card reader is much faster than the device itself, which works according to the USB 1.1 specification.
Before asking a question, know it's already discussed here and at 99.9% is not unique. Use search.

    Spoiler: obs
Many questions become very arduous, a lot of time chewed deja vu...Since we have lost all the year of work and effort, many people have no will to answer the same questions again. Me neither. Use a search, please.
