Default English UK TTS in Igo Luna

    Hi
I have spent the last two days reading the forum posts and getting more and more confused.

I have an Android 10 unit in my car with the Igo Luna Pongo skin installed in it, from this forum.

I am trying to get tts working to read out street names and speed cam warnings.

I have Google speech installed on the device which works for the Google assistant etc, and the voice recognition works in the Luna.

I have no tts voices in the regional settings, only Kate UK standard voice and all TTS options are greyed out.

What do I need to add to the IGO Luna Pongo both for folders and files to activate it which will work with the installed Google Speech engine.

    Thanks

Google's TTS engine has nothing to do with your problem. It just reproduces phrases and expressions and only certain software can use it.
You need an adequate language file because the standard one does not cover all the functions that are shown in the Pongo skin.
iGO in general does not use Google's engine at all, in addition, some other engine is recommended.

    hi
Thanks, i have read through thoses threads and tried my best to understand them.

I found the apk for the vocalizer 3 and have installed it on my device and tested some voices through it and that app works.

I have also downloaded "English-uk_universal_unisex_andTTS-Boki_srb_v.1" folder and have put it in Igo_Luna/tts_nua_ve1 folder, is this correct.

I note that I also have a folder Content/voice where I only have "Voice_Eng-uk-f3-lua, should I have anything else in this folder.

    Thanks for your help

I have no idea what you read here.
Where did you put zsiga68's voice?
The Voices folder is called Voice for a reason.
For the Pongo Skin you need a customized voice and language.

    @Derbychris:
IMO the folder tts_nua_ve1/ works with e.g. eng/ but it is intended for iGO Primo WinCE 🤔
For VocalizerEx (a Android speech-engine) you need an extra voice folder, e.g. eng/ in the primary or secondary drive, where the *.dat file, among other things, goes

    Hi
    Progress is being made.
I followed the instructions in another thread and downloaded vocalised voice along with the app on the device and selected one of the voices.

I added the English-uk_universal_unisex_andTTS-Boki_srb_v.1 to the voice folder in the igo pongo folders and set the tts voice in igo and I now have working tts voices.

I still have an issue with the tts in that it also reads all the special characters out, ie. &!$ etc and says phoneme before ot reads the street names so I need to work out how to stop this.

    Thanks
