    Question GPS hang on bootscreen

    Hi!

Today my 6 months old "generic" China GPS with WinCE 6 and Igo Primo is stuck on a bootscreen.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Tried hard-reset button (pin-hole) but same result.

As i see it, i think this maybe is related to WinCe and some filecorruption?
When i connect it to pc with usb i can see the files in the internal memory.
I do not have a backup image for/of the device.

    Any tips i can try?

Edit: got it to work again using firmware for another GPS that has the same chip (Mediatek 912S)

Only solution for this will be reinstallation of ROM (firmware), but searching for it is like searching a needle in a haystack because these Chinese wince devices doesn't have any support with the system updates. The best chance is if you can contact the seller, maybe he can help you out.

Hi! Thanks! i already did that yesterday using the "contact seller" feature on aliexpress, status i "Read" but so far no reply...
It is in sale from several sellers, so it is a little hope to get a image.
As i has understand this, it should be possible to prepare a SD card and insert it and flash it that way.

All you need is a correct firmware, which is usually a bunch of small files, which needs to be copied to SD card. When you power on device, update starts automatically and job is done in approx 30 sec.
