This metod working on Garmin Nuvi 50!

I got to the point where Updater.exe starts downloading the firmware, but then got an error message: The GARMIN device is not responding. Please note that it does detect the proper device. Does anyone know how to get out of this?

That message appears when the device loses preboot. At the same time device details disappear from the window next to 'USB Device':


Use only a rear port of PC without a hub or use a different PC. Use a different USB cable.

PS: Updater doesn't 'download' firmware, it only takes the RGN file which you load to it and transfers it to the device.

Garmin nuvi 40lm keeps restarting after update.
Not connecting with PC.

Do you have a nuvi 40 or a nuvi 1300 series? Updater.exe is recognizing your device as a 13xx.
