Hello, update fastactivate and try again
Hello,
I've been trying to get the new maps into my Tomtom Go 920, and have been unsuccuessful. I was hoping someone could provide me some insight to see what I'm missing.
I have fastactivate on the root directory of the tomtom and have tried the following maps. USA_Canada_and_Mexico_985_8156 / United_states_985_8208 / and USA_and_Mexico_8156. It was my understanding that two of those had metas, and fastactivate indicated it was a success in creating the dct file. I've patched NavCore as well as Tomtom application. I've reviewed the navcore version, and it's the latest 92xx i think, and it appears to be compatible with both maps. However, when I boot up my Tomtom, it gives me the "you cannot use this map on this device: USA_and_Mexico-10160 error. I'm not sure what I'm missing, but none of the maps work.
Do the .bif files impact the use of the maps as well? It appears i have a working bif, so I'm stumped. If I could get any assistance, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Hello, update fastactivate and try again
United_states_985_8208 and USA_and_Mexico_8156 do have metas released but USA_Canada_and_Mexico_985_8156 doesn't
You need to be sure what version of navcore you've got installed, so check that...the latest is NC 9.510
The message 'you cannot use this map on this device' indicates that the navcore isn't patched
Just checked, it does indicate 9510. I have the latest fastactivate and everytime i try to patch my navcore, it indicates it's already patched. Are there certain files I can delete to trigger a fresh navcore download and try to patch it again?
Wanted to give you guys and update, I have my Tomtom 920 up and running! It's got a new battery and everything. I turns out my issue was having old navcore data still lingering around in the GPS drive. I patched my Navcore back then to get some downloaded maps, and whatever was there from before remained. It caused the current fastactivate to not patch navcore and always indicate an "already patched" navcore. I went in, deleted some old files and patched navcore, and everything is good as new. Re-calibrating the touch screen was a pain though. I'm happy for all of the tutorials and such. I now don't have to purchase a new garmin. Thanks everyone.
Good job...thanks for the update
Tnx too from me
