Nothing so secretive about, Garmin has stepped up their efforts to avoid distributing their maps for share.
You could be maybe successful on some Chinese websites, but for other parts of the world it is extreme difficult to find.

Hi, First post here. I've just bought myself a Garmin GPSMAP 64s for use when out hill walking and mountaineering. So hopefully this will be the first post of many.
So whats the deal here then.. I'm normally pretty good at finding what I need online, and then sharing to help others. But trying to find some maps for my handheld is turning out to be a real pain in the ass! Literally everything I find is either a broken link or an expired file on some filehosting site. The usual p2p search website doesn't turn up what I'm looking for either.
Is there some secretive part of the web where this stuff can be found, or is it just so niche that its like looking for a needle in a haystack?
More specifically I'm trying to get the UK in 24k.. either the Discoverer Premium or Topo GB Pro. So I would have thought that these are very popular maps for people to want and to share.
Cheers all.

Have you looked at the good old 'The Pirate Bay', it is still up and running...
P.S. Blocked (yawn) on some internet providers in the UK.
Yes I did check. But there weren't any UK 1:25k maps of any description on there.
Thats why I asked the question really because it surprised me.
