    Default Primo VS NextGen

    Many of you think 'newer is beter' and 'with time it will get better' but this is not enough to justify a new premature version. They should stick to Primo and try to make it better. Same mistake was made when Primo replaced Igo8. Even now i consider Igo8 as the best navigation software.

    HI!

    Most likely due to is more used in general still prefer Primo.
    For at least the NextGen browser quew own, configure Primo seems faster and easier.
    Why is the market longer, licenses, for example, are easier to achieve.
    However, I believe that in a short time, some of the problems presented by NextGen will be resolved and the browser will be better.

    One of the worst changes made on Primo and Nextgen comparing to Igo8 is disabling the map zoom when navigating. If you try to zoom on these new versions the map is frosen.. so stupid.. you can not modify dynamically the zoom or the tilt factor..
    Another option they took out is the ability to save and restore data to and from SD card.
    and there are more 'minus'...

    This is wrong, there are NextGen UX's that provide zooming and tilting of map in 2D and 3D while navigating!

    I'm still using Primo. It's allready tested during trips and is OK.
    Most of probs are from skins - only appearance is changed but are using almost same core code. I stay away form skins and use default skin + a few minimal UX-s. I think the real problem in Primo is routing code: used parameters values or how code is implemented.

    So, in last WEEKS I've tested a lot of Nextgen android versions, skins, different data.zip files, sys.txt options. No matter what you'll do, you'll not get all you want in same version.
    I consider that codeing effort for NG is too divided, too many versions - Avic/Pionner, Nextgen, Gift, Basar, Israel, Szullin.
    From my tests (this is my personal opinion - you should chose what ever you want) :
    - "best all around" goes to: NG Israel available [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] - weather/tmc/vr
    - if you need something a litle more "pro": you should look for NextGen from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. (excelent TMC).
    - fastest version goes to AVIC.
    - and (sorry guys) worst option is Basar (maybe the version that I've tested was bad and the other are OK.)

    A few more comments regarding NG:
    - in almost all data.zip files are missing a few graphics files.
    - all versions have problems with "average speed" radars - primo is working OK with same speedcam data.
    - This code didn't worked in any version I've tested ( I might miss something)
    [speedcam_category:0]
    approach_beep_spoken_type=sound
    approach_beep_sound="!alert2"
    - skins are using (almost) same LUA code;
    - TTS in pongo skin is nice implemented; but the same skin has probs with "road signs";
    - delays at start of apk when using arimi/pongo skins MIGHT (I'm not sure) involve OASIS code that is present in those skins.
