Garmin CTP13 gupdate.gcd - modify / information Help needed :)
Hi guys,
there`s Garmin CTP13 in-dash mounted navigation on my Fiat Freemont (Dodge Journey).
There is no way to connect it to a PC as you connect Nuvi for example, so you can not download any missing files from the web, replace corrupted one or basically just make a secure copy of original data.
However there is a light in the tunnel:
You are able to enter the secret menu, which has a lot of hidden features that an avarage user should not be using
One of those features is "File Manager" where you can perform basic operations on files, like copying, deleting, renaming etc ...
And here comes what this whole thread is about:
What changes to make (if any) in gupdate.gcd in order to have the rest of 3 files sources active ?
No matter how I format my SD card or USB stcik they are always greyed out and not active.
You can access only 0: (Disk) which is internal Garmin storage.
Or maybe any changes are not necessary and only some file must be included on USB / SD ?
Or maybe SD / USB must have certain label to be active ?
Maybe someone of you guys who`s good at coding is able to find some information about it in gupdate file ?
Maybe there`s a need to set them active somehow by editing gupdate ?
I opened the file fix HxD and searched for Unicode text strings "SD Card" and "USB Flash Drive" and they were found, but I have no expirience and knowlege to make any step forward
Below you find the gupdate.gcd for my device

Format should be FAT32 for Garmin.
Did you try to create a \Garmin folder on the sdCard and copy there a map file for example?
Does the unit recognize the sdCard then?
In order to update your files (if there is any update available) goto Maps menu and press menu (3 bars).
Press update maps button and will prompt you to insert a usb stick.
Insert a formatted FAT32 stick with a empty Garmin folder on it and the unit will write GarminDevice.xml file in the folder.
Insert the stick in your PC, connect to Garmin Express (or webupdater) and check what happens.
Because of the GarminDevice.xml file, your USB stick will be recognized as your incar unit.

Can you post this url again to the CTP13 file? The one here had been disabled by dropbox.
