I'm guessing you have UAC enabled. Run Cure3 as Administrator. Or just drag the rgn file from cure3 to a directory with updater.exe contained in it, then drag the rgn file onto updater.exe. Either will work.
I ran GarminCure3 : drag gcd file, choose CURE and Make firmware. I can see rgn file and Processing OK in message box. With finger depressing top left corner of screen, I connect my Garmin device to the PC running GarminCure. When a beep sound heard I clicked Updater.exe in GarrminCure3. ERROR : can't run updater.exe displayed in the message box. I could not access to the file system with GarminCure3.

If this problem continues use a PC with Windows XP (Yes I know it's going backwards).
A lot of us are running 7 no problems but some have had problems depending on Win 7 system configuration.
It's worth a try if you can get hold of XP Computer. The main thing is to fix that Nuvi.
We can always come back to 7 later when Nuvi is working.

I had the same with a nuvi 2200 today , dont disconnect it from USB ,restart Nuvi in preboot pressing and holding finger, reflash cure again.
I succeeded at third try. After that win 7 asked to format it when connected, I formatted it ,Windows saw it like storage device, I recreate Garmin folder , reflashed with original sw. in preboot, restarted it, cleared non vol,run Webupdater. Now it works ok.
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600

I'm in printer industry, We have major problems with some low level USB drivers in 7, same driver in another 7 computer works fine. (nothing to do with 32 bit 64 bit)
Undocumented behaviour, Cosmic dust, whatever.
I have one 7 computer will not flash Nuvi in preboot even after reload windows, another 3 works fine. "Go Figure"
All XP computers work fine.

It's easy. You just prepare update.txt with rrgn,41,1:/41.bin and xrgn,41 commands and then execute it as suggested here:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
But I'm pretty sure that patching boot.bin is too hard for an average user. Also on very new devices like dezl760 SD card is accessed as 2:/, not as 1:/.
So it would be better if there were some program for automating all the actions above.
Also I still planning (for at least one year already!) to create all-in-one cure which would with just one click format NV (while preserving some important records) and format the internal flash drive by uploading a patched boot.bin in pre-boot modde.
This error indicates that GarminCure3.exe couldn't execute Updater.exe in the folder which contains GarminCure3.exe. So make sure Updater.exe is present in the same folder as GarminCure3.exe. Also try copying both files to C:\.
I used Window 8 and have set UAC setting to 'never notify'. I tried again (do exactly like what I've told) , when updater.exe clicked, it ran, 'Software Loading' seen at the Garmin and another time 'Loader Loading'. Updater.exe said update succesful. I unplug the Garmin, and force shutdown when the unit still says "Loader Loading". I started the Garmin, but it still stay at logo. Has the Garmin installed? What should I do next?
You are not successfuly flashing the device.
The Nuvi should restart by itself.
If you are installing Garmincure3 in Cure mode the Nuvi will not be bootable but will allow you access to the internal flashdisk.
This is to allow you to delete corrupt files and / or to format the Nuvi Internal Flash Disk with RMPREPUSB.
If you are installing GarminCure3 in Original mode the Nuvi will be bootable.

I've run GarminCure3 and formatted Nuvi Internal Flash Disk with RMPREPUSB. I reflashed with original fw. in preboot, but it cannot be detected by updater.exe in USB Device. Windows see it like storage device (G) and empty.
