So when is model 140 or 150 available in store and somebody on Noeman buy it we can scan region with boot.bin/ldr from nuvi 40
Maybe is in some region function for TMC.
Nah, not really. I've already had $50 worth of fun out of it anyway Boet.
Anyway it comes with the unconditional 12 months Giomen replacement guarantee.
I was going to flash it back, but i quite like the different look of the home screen etc, so i'll leave it for now. 'Brave' would have been to try flashing the full 140/150 fw. I'm just stupid, not brave.

Tried the Firmware on a EU Nuvi 50LM, WebUpdater shows Nuvi 52, Garmin Dashboard as Nuvi 50LM.
For now seems to work fine.
Kudos!
Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?
I move this thread in Firmwares section new title added
Nice tests
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
Other user who will try this FW,please first create backup of all NVM (or only reg 41) and only then play with test FW
Can anyone help with this? I remember reading an article, i thought it was by Rich Owings, about a new nuvi for EU and US with traffic capabilities. I thought it was about 42/52 but now i can't find any relevant search results at all for [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and even this search gets no hits: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. I think now that i was mixing up the elusive 42/52 with this article by him on 140/150T:
So does anyone know if 42/52 have any traffic capabilities? I'm thinking not traffic nor anything else over 40/50. Anyone heard anything about them: release, specs, whatever or had a close look at the fw, are they just the 40/50 with different look and no additional capabilities at all? Is the different HWID maybe just to stop ppl flashing their 40/50's for a new look or maybe they have an upgraded chip.Code:Please Login or Register to see the links

Sorry to follow my own post again, but this is not really appropriate to do as an edit to the above because it might not be noticed as easily and I would welcome some thoughts by others. I have done some further research and still cannot come up with anything about the 'elusive' 42/52 series. This has got me a bit intriged, as we all know what a pack of giggling gossips Garmin GPS fanboys are, don't we?
These are now my thoughts:
1. It really is the 140/150T fw disguised as 42/52 (quite likely i think); or
2. It is simply a further development of 40/50 fw with no traffic, and therefore the 42/52 naming and the HWID of 1631 are both just 'red herrings' and it will be released as v2.8 or> with 40/50 HWID of 1350 (maybe...?, but why would they give the base models a 'tart-up' with a nice new look?); or
3. The fw is genuinely for a new secret model series 42/52 with HWID 1631 which nobody had heard of or talked about (seems unlikely to me now because there have been no rumours or reports).
Any other ideas, or has anyone heard anything at all about Nuvi 42/52 either before or since Giomen so kindly posted the link to the UAT002_283.gdc? If not even a rumour has been heard, then maybe it is just a phantom series and therefore Garmin's version of a Q-ship. Can someone get hold of a 140 or 150T to see it's HWID and check the fw for traffic capablilities? Giomen has either an advanced Asp aversion and/or a genuine fear of travel to Germany so i've given up on him. One of you other rich Europeans please, go buy one (or beg, borrow or steal one).
PS: If Caty, Loly, Angelo, Giomen, ddabcd277 or anyone known and trusted by me wants a region scan of my modded 40/42 just tell me what you want and i'll PM it.
