Hello Pat31,
be carefully to install firmware because v 4.x is only for USA models, P/N 39200-MCA-R00 A* and firmware 2.x is a multilanguage version only for European models. Unmount your unit and read the white label.
May be the best solution is to install v.4.5 if you have USA model (I have this and it's not the best but it does its work better than 4.60) or v.2.30 or 2.60 if you have an European model. I know the french localization also have some others differences from other EU models, like Horse Power, but I don't think these differences concern the navigation unit. But I can't to be sure. You can find the firmwares in this forum, so do any changes at you own risk.
See you in Brignoles next week. Ciao.

For logging purposes it should create files with names of the form "XXXX-YYYYYYYY.log" where X and Y are hexadecimal digits. So can you list the files on the CF card after the experiment? You can do it by typing "dir > output.txt" in the Windows command line (when the current directory is the root of the CF card) and posting the output.txt contents here.
Also I tried to write string "HELLO NOEMAN" to gupdate.gcd starting at offset 5. Can you check if it's present?
dumper0.7 runs indefinitely and do nothing. I stopped the execution after about 25 minutes.
