Hello, until Catymag answeres to you, let me add that I used this method several times... with Garmin folder on EXTERNAL SD card, the card out of phone into the card reader, and all garmin programs (mapsource, basecamp and webupdater) see the card as a garmin device. The simplest way (that I do) is to have a Garmin folder on a usb stick, in this folder you copy the garmindevice.xml file. Hope to be of help.

Simply create a Garmin folder in sd, put inside SP Garmindevice, xml, plug it in pc and start Webupdater.

    Default Correction

Catymag - "Simply create a Garmin folder in sd, put inside SP Garmindevice, xml, plug it in pc and start Webupdater."

Great, it worked now, mnay thanks!

However, after updating all downloaded files I still can't get anything more than american english and chinese as a text language. Anybody any idea what could be preventing the standard Garmin install on Asus Padfone 2 from seeing the full set of text languages? Voices are fine, with every one available.

    Dear Caty,
working on Note 2 442, rooted, all ok ; I'm trying to get the updates: I don't see "Garmindevice.xml", I believe this file should be create automatically, but I don' find it. Trying to update from Mac the external SD is not seen...(maybe because the "Garmindevice.xml" is not present)
    Any suggestion ??
    Again a beautiful job !!!
    Greetins!!
    Regards

"Garmindevice.xml" you can find it in: x:/..../Garmin/Garmin/GarminDevice.xml
    Copy GarminDevice.xml in external SD:/Garmin/GarminDevice.xml

I am on Note2 android 4.4.2, rooted, files in storage/sdcard0/Garmin. ( but I also see the garmin folder on /sdcard and /emulated/0 so I don't know which libgarminos and apk combination to use... I used all possible combinations of libgarminos and apks, but the best result was to have Garmin start and load maps, but hanging on "select a locale" without options to select from...or "streetpilot has stopeed". I cannot make it to work. I just wish someone with the same configuration like me could give me a link with a working set of libgarminos and apk files. Cheers.

Thanks, I tried to install it, this apk cannot be installed in my phone. It takes some time, and then ends with the message that the applicaton was not installed. Other ideas?

try install apk from mermigas post and then copy my libgarminos to data/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/lib and set permission to rwx-rx-rx
