I've never had to do a hard reset after a map upgrade. At the same time, it doesn't hurt to do it as it does clear out leftover tracks and other data that accumulates.
Yeah it's Avast. You are supposed to hard reset the device after map installs yes?

If you're running Win7 use Microsoft Essentials, Win8> use Defender. They're freely available without charge for genuine MS Operating Systems and they won't give false positives.
I've never reset after solely doing a map update. I always reset or clear nonvol before and after firmware changes though. As Strephon Alkhalikoi said, it can't hurt. Back up your favourites first if you want to restore them.

is there a 2015.30 gmapprom.img that is compatible with android streetpilot app?
Yes, and it's the one you create using the map data provided in the opening posts of this thread. To use the map in Streetpilot requires unlocking not just the map data if locked, but unlocking the map image file created from the map data. See "How To Defeat GMA Authentication" in my signature for tutorials.
One last thing: make sure you're using the right version of the Streetpilot app. I made the mistake of mixing and matching the app and the instructions on where to place the files. The end result was that everything functioned but the detail map itself.
@201reyes
SP apps can use any unlocked detail map appropriately named and placed. Unlocked file in Post #2 and more though the thread. That's if you can't be bothered creating one yourself as suggested above [best way imo though]. The correct JCV file for SP is D3478140A but US/CA only so no MX if you slip over the border. Got b*gger-all views in that file anyway, 'bout as usefull as a hip-pocket in your undies imo.
