The Anavasi map in Mapsource shows streets, unpaved roads etc with certain colors, for example dirt roads are yellow. When the map is installed in the device (using the file on the "OnTheTrail" link), all these appear with different colors on the device, for example the dirt roads mentioned, are now brown.
I'm not talking about the tracks or routes that the user makes, I know that the color of these can be altered in the setup of the device (garmin montana600). I'm talking about the roads themselves as they are on the .img file...

Is this normal? Is it a device issue or is it related to the files?

It has to do with the TYP inside the img or MapSource file. If you use the original TYP that comes with the map after you send it to your Garmin device you won't be able to see all offroad network. That's the reason we use homemade TYP's depending the device & that's why the colors are not the same. You can use the TYP's & Map files from the newest version [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] where you can choose the TYP you like best & use it in both img & MapSource file of the map.
