How to use the "ReadCID.exe" included? Can I use it for reading the serial number of a SD-card? I did fail...
Anyway thank you for the map!

Yes, with "ReadCID.exe" you can identify the hardware ID of SD card. But only if it is in a compatible built in cardreader (not usb card reader).
I run the ReadCID.exe from the SD-card in the built-in cardreader, first on a MSI Wind netbook with XP and second on a Acer Extensa 5235 with Vista but get only the black dos-window. A pity, I have been looking for some software like this for quite some time!
Loaded both images and the gpi on sd card of my Oregon 300. Works like a charm. The best hiking map for the Alps I've ever seen! Many thanks.
How to use it with BaseCamp?
thanks!
Just copy the files onto an SD card or usb stick, using the directory stucture as given in the download. Once the SD card or the USB stick is connected to the PC, the map will show up in Basecamp.
AFAIK, the 37xx series cannot display raster maps. That means the POI and labels will show, but not the map itself.
Dumb question..
I installed onto an SD card, and maps show great with BaseCamp. How can I read the other info in the POI's, like ski routes, hut info, hiking, etc. I am in the USA, so I assume that I can't read any of this info on my Colorado 400t until I get to Austria. Any thoughts?
Thank You! p!xeldealer and hurb1
for this nice map set.
For Garmin Navi users, who only would like to use the poi-file:
The poi-file: Garmin\POI\Alpenvereins-POIs.gpi is completely in the first archive file AlpenwanderungU.part01.rar.
Therefore you have to download only this file for the POI.
This kind of garmin raster maps is very interesting.
Has anybody an idea or an link to an tool or any information about this img file type.
Is it possible to create own garmin raster maps by means of this kind of file?
@eyeman27
Try to switch your device to GPS-simulation ;-)
Ciao Hugo
