My gps is 255w originally US firmware but I converted it to sg/my 2.80 firmware. What I installed are Thai kb, Thai menu, the map (Thai version as a gmapprom), and the D1229030D JCV files.

I have a weird problem. When I use it in Bangkok, everything works great. I can use all fuctions such as Jucntion view, highway mode (choose malaysia locales). But last week I brought this gps with me to Chiang Mai. When I tried to use it, the GPS coundn't calculate route at all no matter from POI searching or putting a new address of somewhere in Chiang Mai. I mean no route calculation, no pink line and the GPS just keep showing the messege "unable to calculate route to destination". However, when I removed the JCV file, the GPS worked normally again.

Also,I try to use it as a "OFF Mode" and it shows that when I put the JCV file in the Unit. I can't simulate a route at all in every province of Thailand except in Bangkok.

I doubt that this problem happened because I didn't install the Thailand basemap providing in this thread. When I check the basemap file, it is still the old one from US version (around 50mb). But I don't know that when I flash it from US to SG/MY firmware. It replace the basemap to SG/MY version or not.

So, what I wanna try is deleting the old basemap (50mb) and I'll put the new one that provides in this thread but the Rapid link seems not to work. Could anyone please upload the Thailand basemap 3.00 in this thread again. Also, is my suspect right about this problem? Anyone please help and sorry for my English. Thanks in advance.
Hi, hope this will explain Your problems:

"ESRI (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has developed the new TSM version10.0 for deploying in the GARMIN GPS navigation devices that would meet the user requirements and support every function on all devices sold in the past and present-especially new functions requested by our customers such as realistic view of intersections which provide driving convenient for Thai drivers. Since then the company has received requests for adding more images. So the new version of Thailand map (TSM v.10.0) has increased this data-not only Junction View, but also other functions as well.
After initial testing with the new data, the company found out that the new developments and enhancements might have resulted in side effect on few functions on previous GPS models that don’t support newer features such as Junction View, for example. The primary issue is the search function when you are searching for a place by using the “near…” button which sometime cause the unit to shut down prematurely or can’t find the city that you entered. Other than that you can still search for POIs or use other functions as usual.
The company has worked closely with product manufacturer to urgently solve this issue. The manufacturer will develop the new version of firmware to remedy this problem which requires a period of development and testing. When the new firmware is ready for distribution to end users, the company will inform everyone via this website and by your email address (if you have already registered as member).
By the way, you still can download or request TSM v.10.0 for normal operation by avoiding the about mentioned function. Finally, the company would like to apologize for any inconvenience that might have caused by this issue. If you find any other problems, please contact GARMIN customer care at 02-266-9948 or by email at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], so they would be solved as soon as possible."

I have a nuvi 1340T which I purchased new in the U.K. it came with a pre-loaded European map (CN EUROPE NT 2010.10) I have been trying to load the Thailand Street Map NT v10.0 EN but without success. The Garmin folder of the unit contained just one file garmindevice.xml there were no .img files installed anywhere, I have unzipped the unlocked TSM v10 file and renamed it gmapsupp.img and moved it to the Garmin folder in the internal memory but it is not recognised.
    What am I doing wrong?

Some newer Garmin devices 1xxx have hidden folder named "System", so You have to turn ON displaying hidden and system files in Folder options of Explorer to see and open it. In this folder you'll find .img file. Rename downloaded file exactly same as this .img file and put it in same place. Backup old file before, just in case...

    Thanks for your quick reply.
You were spot on about the hidden system folder, it contains 3 .img files. (gmapbmap.img gmapprom.img and gmaptz.img) I have moved the TSM v10 into the folder as gmapsupp.img but it is still not recognized. Should I be replacing one of the files already there with the new one?

Navigation map is gmapprom.img, this one should be replaced, rename new map as this one gmapprom.img
    other two files are:
gmapbmap.img - base bitmap (should remain)
gmaptz.img - timezone info (should remain)

Midnight Blues if your around I have another couple of questions for you.

I now have both the Thailand map and the European map loaded in the internal memory of my nuvi, I have renamed one as gmapprom.img and the other as gmapprom1.img the unit does not recognize gmapsupp.img files.
My first question is If I want to load any more maps can I simply rename them gmapprom2.img, gmapprom3.img etc, etc or is it more complicated? and secondly the maps are currently in Garmin\System folder of the internal memory if I want to put maps onto an SD card should I put them into a folder named Garmin or Garmin\System.
    TIA.
