From what I read the problem with the updates it was only people with original SD card version with 16GB and made copies manuals for 32Gb card and then update.

I'm still waiting for my Evo + from amazon.de. I also bought two SDs locally but were the "bad" version mmc0: 59b4.

Your original card is 32GB and the raw copy was made to the Evo + 64GB? And it became only with 32GB usable?
    Yes that is correct.

This is very interesting, since the cheap SD cards sold on eBay are said to work.
Please keep us posted on this subject, since upgrading the map's a deal breaker.

Thanks to the Forum and the users who unrolled and researched the subject and the thread. After having said that…

    I receive the 32GB SAMSUNG EVO+ from amazon.de and it’s the "good" one (mmc0\:0001)!

    Code:

(Frustfreie Verpackung - frustration free packaging)
Thanks to _Stefen_ u mentioned amazon.de on page 34

I have a simple copy of my Garmin Map Pilot original card and it’s that I use to make a “clone” SD card. I don’t use the raw copy because the original SD it’s a slightly lager that the common 32GB SD and it’s necessary to use a 64GB card.

I use a “married” copy off the content of an original 32GB Garmin Map Pilot SD CARD .

    Things needed:
    • Samsung Evo+ 32GB SD Card ("good" one mmc0\:0001!)
    • PC with internal SD reader and Linux OS (Ubuntu 16.4.1 32Bits on old laptop HP Compaq NC6120)
    • Copy of original Garmin MAP pilot SD
    • CID of original Garmin MAP pilot SD
    • Label of original Garmin MAP pilot SD
    • Another PC with Windows

Note – All the commands it’s supposing that the device is mmcblk0, if yours it’s something else adapt the commands to correct device number.

    Preparation of the Linux machine:
    Open a terminal session…

    1. “Install” evoplus_cid on Ubuntu machine!
    Local:
    root@HP:/usr/local/src#

    Command line:
    sudo -s
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links

    Compile app...
    Local:
    root@HP:/usr/local/src/evoplus_cid/jni#

    Command line:
    gcc evoplus_cid.c -o evoplus_cid

    2. Install exfatlabel
    Command line:
    sudo apt-get install exfat-fuse exfat-utils

    start the process itself…
    1. Obtain the CID from the original CARD:
    Command Line:
    sudo cat /sys/block/mmcblk0/device/cid

    2. Confirm that the Evo+ SD it’s of the “good ones”:
    Command Line:
    ls -l /sys/block |grep mmc
    If result= mmc0:0001 then smile!
If result= mmc0:59b4 then purchase another evo+ sd card (better luck next time! )

With the result mmc0:0001 continue the process…
    3. Change the CID

    Local:
    root@HP:/usr/local/src/evoplus_cid/jni#

    Command line:
    sudo -s
    ./evoplus_cid /dev/mmcblk0 <Original CID>

See the result of the evoplus_cid, if success then umount the SD card and mount again to confirmation of the CID change. (Generic umount command: umount /dev/mmcblk0p1 supposed that your device is mmcblk0)

    4. On a windows machine format the evo+ SD card using the file system exFAT not the usually FAT32

    5. On the linux machine change the label of the evo+ SD Card to be exactly equal to the original SD (must use Linux because of 12 characters long of the original label - Windows only admit 11)
    Command Line:
    exfatlabel /dev/mmcblk0p1 [Original 12long label]

Note: For me the command don’t really function on first attempt… I have to insist.

    6. Confirm all the requirements are made then copy the content of original SD to your Evo+ prepared SD card.

    Requirements:
    CID Change - √
Format to system file exFAT - √
    Change Label - √

When finished you can tested on your Mercedes-Benz.
I have tested with no issues.

For final test upgrade with Mercedes-Benz download Manager. MB download Manager upgrade the Evo+ SD from Program V5.0, SW 30.09, Build 15/25.00, Map 2015/2016 (V5.0) Europe to the last available Program V6, SW 38.18, Build 16/13.01, Map 2015/2016 (V5.0) Europe. All went ok. (Possibly there is no other version of maps yet.)

    Back to the car!!
The evo+ “married” with the GPS system and all went OK Again!! take the evo+ off and put the original SD and it worked without any problems.

    Hi guys,
I have some problems to change CID on my SD card.
I have tried on two different laptop using UBUNTU and compiling binary file for linux, but unfortunately both pc has the internal card reader connected via usb.
So I have tried on android phone rooted (galaxy S5 mini) whitout sucess:
    1 copied whole directory evoplus_cid under root/data/data
2 wrote SU for root permission
3 tried comand chmod +x /data/data/evoplus_cid but did not work (bad mode)
4 tried comand chmod 755 /data/data/evoplus_cid seems work (no alert message, seem to work)
5 check SD CARD ls -l /sys/block |grep mmc found four mmcblk and all have mmc*:0001 (mmcblk0 mmcblk0boot0 mmcblk0boot1 mmcblk1) I think the right one is mmcblk1 and it has mmc2:001
6 read original cid cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc2/mmc2\:0001/cid ok read original CID
    7 try to write cid /data/data/evoplus_cid /dev/block/mmcblk1 098765432109876543210987654321 don't work. Alert message "can't execute: is a directory"
8 try to write cid /data/data/evoplus_cid/evoplus_cid /dev/block/mmcblk1 098765432109876543210987654321 don't work. Alert message "not found"

under data/data/ directory I have copied the whole folder downloaded here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. In this folder there are: jni, libs, .gitignore, license, readme.md

    Where I'm wrongh ???

    EDIT: SOLVE !!!
The executable file for android was under evoplus_cid/libs/armeabi/
so the comand line inside folder armeabi ./evoplus_cid /dev/block/mmcblk1 098765432109876543210987654321 now works

For clone original sd card I have used Miray HD clone.
For reading the original cid I've used a laptop with ubuntu os
For change cid I've used android phone rooted.
Tested the cloned card in my car: all perfect like the original.
Tested the cloned card on mercedes benz download software: all perfect. (the software show a new upgrade available).
I have map europe 2016 v6.0 and software v6.0. On mercedes download software I can see update to v6.1
So, upgraded original card, I have put it in my car for autentication, an then copied all fil on clone card. All cards now works perfectly.
